Cross-country ski snow report – we’ve got snow!

November 21, 2012
5:30PM Update: The best skiing is in the morning hours right now. The snow softens in the afternoon. Those with 2-wheel drive vehicles should park on the plowed part of the White Pine parking lot and not get into the soft snow on the sides where you might get stuck.
Wednesday, November 21st, 8:30AM report: We’ve got snow! There’s about 6 inches of new snow, enough to ski on! But it still isn’t very deep and there may be obstacles just under the surface, so bring your old skis for this early season outing. Also be aware of wildlife; moose tracks have been observed on the trail. No dogs please. Flat track skating track groomed on Upper Surveyor and over Moose Ridge trails. The road is plowed and in good condition. Drive up into White Pine Resort and park near the Nordic barn. _______________________________________
Editor's Note: White Pine Ski Resort is not open yet for alpine skiing or for services at the lodge. There is a restroom by the Nordic Barn at the trailhead. Bring your own snacks and drinks for the needs of your group.
