Fremont Lake Upper Boat Site and Campground closed for construction
November 2, 2012
The Bridger-Teton National Forest has closed the Upper Fremont Lake Boat Site and Campground, located 6-miles north of Pinedale, Wyoming, for reconstruction. Both sites will be closed for the remainder of this year. Construction activities will resume in the spring of 2013. Construction projects for the boat site include two-way access directly to the launch area, enlargement and resurfacing of the boat site parking area, and reconstruction of the boat ramp, fishing pier, and dock. This portion of the project is being funded and implemented in partnership with the Wyoming Game & Fish Department. Construction projects for the campground include new vault toilets, realignment of parking spurs, replacement of picnic tables and fire rings, and road repairs within the campground. Portions of the campground are expected to remain open during the 2013 summer season, as long as construction progresses as anticipated. According to Public Affairs Officer Mary Cernicek, "We are excited to announce that this project is underway. The contractor has begun working at these sites, and expects to complete the project by November 30, 2013, as originally scheduled. We look forward to working with our partners and contractors to accomplish this project, which will benefit boaters and campers at this popular site." Updates regarding implementation of this project will be available at the Pinedale Ranger District (307-367-4326) and will be posted on the Bridger-Teton National Forest website.
