BLM seeks public comment on proposed Fremont Lake Road improvements
Informational Open House planned January 15th
by Bureau of Land Management
December 14, 2012

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office (PFO) is seeking public comment on a proposed Fremont Lake Road/County Road 23-154 improvement project and will hold an informational open house on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1625 W. Pine in Pinedale, Wyoming.

The 1.5 miles of proposed road improvements would lead up to the Lakeside Lodge turnoff and improve public safety and snow removal by widening shoulders, improving drainage, replacing asphalt and providing flat areas for snow catchers.

The material needed for improving existing steep shoulders to 6:1 slopes would come from expanding existing borrow ditches along the road. In most areas, these improvements would take place within the existing 100-foot wide right-of-way; however, 11 temporary work areas totaling 6.13 acres would be needed outside the existing right-of-way.

If permitted, the project would begin in the summer of 2013 and be completed by fall of 2013.

For additional information, please visit www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/pfo/fremont.html.

An environmental assessment (EA) will analyze the effects of the construction and operation of this proposed project. The BLM is seeking constructive public comments to help identify potential issues, concerns, ideas and alternatives to be addressed in the EA. Mail or deliver written comments by 4:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, to the PFO, 1625 W. Pine St., P.O. Box 768, Pinedale, WY 82941; or fax to 307-367-5329; or email to bwadswor@blm.gov with "Fremont Lake Road" in the subject line.

Before including your address, phone number, email address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.

For further information, please contact PFO Realty Specialist Bill Wadsworth at 307-367-5341.
