Despite the government being $16 trillion dollars in debt (and rising), President Obama gives federal workers a pay raise

On Thursday, Dec. 27th, President Obama issued an executive order that would lift the pay freeze on federal employees and implement a 0.5 percent across-the-board increase starting the first pay period after March 27, 2013. Included in the increase, is a $6,000/year+ increase for Vice President Joe Biden (to $231,900/year) and $900/year increases for Senators and House Representatives of Congress (to $174,900/year). Also included are increases for judicial salaries, administrative law judges, uniformed services personnel, veteran’s health administration workers, foreign service, and general service workers.
