Nordic ski grooming report – Dec. 4, 2012
December 4, 2012
Report courtesy of Mike Looney, Groomer:
Upper Surveyor and Moose Ridge were groomed on Monday, Dec. 3rd for both classic and skate skiing. Upper Surveyor has great skiing. Lower Surveyor has been groomed for skating, and the skiing is "so-so". There is a base of about 8 inches total depth with 2 inches of new snow from the recent 3-day storm.
Please keep dogs off Upper Surveyor Park for now, but they are welcome in Lower Surveyor. Be alert for wildlife, deer and moose, on the ski trails. Never approach wildlife and keep your dogs under control at all times.
The road going in is good, but watch for deer along the way. The parking lot at White Pine ski area is snow packed and in good condition. White Pine lodge still has not opened for their alpine ski season and there are no services yet at the lodge. Bring your own drinks and food for your needs. A restroom is available at the Nordic ski trailhead off the parking lot.
Hope for more snow!
