Nordic ski grooming report – Dec. 8, 2012
December 8, 2012
Report courtesy of Mike Looney, Groomer
Upper & Lower Surveyor and Moose Ridge all groomed for both classic and skating today. Old Road Trail and Tree Loop groomed for skating. Tree Loop will be soft. Use caution on Old Road Trail due to thin coverage. The other trails are in fair condition. Sweeney parking lot got 4" of new snow, more at White Pine. The wind is blowing.
Please keep dogs off Upper Surveyor Park for now, but they are welcome in Lower Surveyor. Be alert for wildlife, deer and moose, on the ski trails. Never approach wildlife and keep your dogs under control at all times.
The road is snow packed and plowed. Watch for deer along the way. The parking lot at White Pine ski area is snow packed and in good condition. White Pine lodge still has not opened for their alpine ski season and there are no services yet at the lodge. Bring your own drinks and food for your needs. A restroom is available at the Nordic ski trailhead off the parking lot.
After December 15th no vehicles will be allowed on any of the ski trails. CCC Ponds will be groomed after that date, as soon as snow allows.
