Estate planning seminars in January

Planning for the end of your life ensures that your wishes for care are carried out and removes the burden of difficult or confusing decisions placed upon loved ones during a time of grief. The library is offering a series of lunchtime informational sessions Thursdays in January from 11:45 am - 1:15 pm in the Board Room designed to help you prepare and make a troublesome time less difficult for your loved ones. Bring a bag lunch with you. The library will provide beverages. Caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend. January 10th - Survivors' Journal and Living Wills Public Health and Jeanene Esterholt ("In-Home Services") will talk about creating a portfolio to help your loved ones make legal, financial and personal decisions after your death or during your recovery from a serious illness or injury. January 17th - County Family Services & VA Benefits Benefits Specialist Leesa Pasquin, from the Department of Family Services will speak about elder issues and offer information about available programs and services. Cheryl Allen, Veteran Service Officer, will discuss veteran/survivor benefits available to residents of Sublette County. January 24th - The Gift of Hospice For many, "hospice" is a dreaded word. Social worker Maike Tan will offer insight into how this not-for-profit organization can offer emotional support, medical comfort and tranquility for the patient and loved ones during an otherwise difficult time. She will also talk about family members' duties and benefits during an incapacitating event. January 31st - Funeral Planning Curt Covill from Covill Funeral Home will speak about funeral and burial services available from their funeral home, including general costs and prearrangement options.
