Public Comment period extended for Fontenelle Fire Salvage scoping
January 30, 2013
On January 28th, the Big Piney Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest issued a public notice they are extending the public comment period for the Fontenelle Fire Salvage scoping. They are doing this because there was a typo in the original letter the Forest sent out. Anyone who has already submitted comments does not need to resubmit their comments. The web address at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/btnf/projects will be updated with the new legal notice commencing the 30 day starting period for comments.
The Forest Service is seeking information, comments, and assistance from individuals, organizations and federal, state, and local agencies that may be interested in or affected by the proposed action. The Big Piney Ranger District has scheduled the preparation of an EA to disclose the environmental effects of the project. Public comments will be used and disclosed in the environmental analysis documented in the Fontenelle Fire Salvage Project EA. Those commenting on this proposal during the comment period will be eligible to appeal the subsequent decision.
The Responsible Official for the decision is the Big Piney District Ranger. For more information please contact Travis Bruch, Interdisciplinary Team Leader, at 307-739-5562 or at tbruch@fs.fed.us.
