Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 pm this afternoon (Thursday, January 10) to 5 pm Friday.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a winter weather advisory for snow which is in effect from 5 pm Thursday afternoon to 5 pm Friday.

Summary and timing: Snow will develop rapidly this evening and continue through the day Friday.

Snow Accumulations: 2 to 4 inches in the Upper Green River Basin including Farson, Big Piney and La Barge with 3 to 6 inches around Pinedale and Daniel. Locally higher amounts up to 9 inches are possible towards Bondurant.

Visibility: Under one half mile at times.

Impacts: travel across the area will be impacted by slick roads and sharply reduced visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
