BLM Pinedale hosts Greater Sage-Grouse public meeting March 14
by Bureau of Land Management
February 27, 2013

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office, in coordination with the Pinedale Anticline Project Office, will host a Greater Sage-Grouse public meeting on Thursday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pinedale Field Office, 1625 W. Pine St. in Pinedale, Wyoming.

This meeting is a follow-up to the Feb. 20, 2013 Wildlife Annual Planning Meeting (APM) and is prompted by the drop in the number of active sage-grouse leks in the Duke’s Triangle Complex, a Wildlife Monitoring and Mitigation Matrix trigger. Monitoring data and maps will be presented and public comments sought regarding appropriate mitigation planning and implementation.

The 2011/12 Greater Sage-Grouse Monitoring Annual Report for the Pinedale Anticline Project Area (PAPA) is available online at www.wy.blm.gov/jio-papo/papo/wildlife.htm.

As directed in the 2008 PAPA Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision, a general APM is scheduled each year encompassing a wide range of PAPA topics. A separate Wildlife APM was established to coincide more closely with the availability of wildlife data and to allow for a deeper and more efficient discussion of wildlife issues. Additional follow-up meetings are scheduled as needed.

Please contact Eric Decker at 307-367-5386 for more information.
