Sandhill Cranes are back Watching the cranes Livestock guardian dogs watch a pair of sandhill cranes, but aren't concerned with their presence. The white thing in the brush above the crane is a guardian dog, there to protect the sheep herd from predators. Sandhill cranes are back! March 28, 2013 A pair of sandhill cranes arrived at the Paradise Ranch near Hwy 351 just before dusk on Tuesday, March 26th.
