Elk on the move Photo by Dave Bell

Dave Bell has some great photos of the local scenery and wildlife. Spring is trying to push winter back and the migratory animals are making their way in. Bluebirds, meadowlarks, robins and sandhill cranes are back. The elk, deer and antelope are on the move up the valley as the snow melts away and opens up new feeding areas. The grass is starting to turn green in places. Ticks are out. It will be another month or so before we see green leaves, and we'll probably have a few more rounds with some snow on the ground before winter finally gives up and lets the warm weather move in. It’s a great time to get out the camera and binoculars and enjoy our wonderful outdoors! (Remember that you have to wait until May 1st before you can go out antler hunting.)
