Summer Food Preservation Series offered

The Sublette County Extension Office is offering four food preservation workshops, one each month in June, July, August and September.
Thursday, June 13: Canning Basics for Safe Preserving: Water Bath Canning Focus on canning safety, types of equipment and proper canning methods.
Tuesday, July 9: Freezing and Drying Preserving for quality results Learn the basics of drying fruits, vegetables, herbs, leathers and jerkies.
Tuesday, August 27: Getting over your fear of Pressure Canning Learn how a pressure canner works and how to safely can lowacid foods. Bring in your canner lid for dial gauge testing.
Thursday, September 12: Learning the basics of Pickling and Fermentation Learn the science of preparing and storing krauts and other fermented vegetables.
The classes will be from 5:15–7:30PM in the Lovatt Room at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale. Cost is $10/class or $30 for the entire series (4 classes). Sign up for the entire Summer Food Preservation Series (June 13, July 9, August 27, September 12) or for individual classes. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited.
