The Wind River Riders 13th Annual Open Horse Show May 4th
April 28, 2013
The 13th Annual Wind River Riders Open Horse Show will be held at the Sublette County Fair Grounds near Big Piney on Saturday, May 4th beginning at 8 AM. This show is put on by the Wind River Riders for the enjoyment of all horse enthusiasts from western Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. This show is a Bits n Spurs sanctioned show, as it always has been.
Over 45 classes are held throughout the day and first place finishers are awarded beautiful belt buckles. The buckles have become a tradition for the history of the show.
Generous donations from area businesses and individuals make the show possible. The 4H club also puts on an all-day horse clinic (May 5th, also at the arena) which is free to 4H members. This year the clinics will focus on Western Rail and Pattern Classes and also Trail.
While it is impressive to watch the many riders of all ages, it is also an interesting opportunity for spectators to see people of all ages show their horses. Plan on attending this event which has become a spring tradition in Sublette County.
