Have you ever wondered about the seemingly random boulder placement around Fremont Lake? Turns out it's not quite as random as one might think. Join Dr. Edward B. Evenson, glacial geologist associated with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lehigh University on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:00 pm at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale in to find out why.

Evenson will take his lecture on the road to Fremont Lake following a brief lecture. Participants are encouraged to car pool to the overlook.

Back by popular demand, Evenson will explain how to recognize, map and assign ages to the glacial deposits around Fremont Lake. He will also talk about the affect of sage fires on the boulders in the moraines which explain why the moraines close to the lake have so many boulders and those closer to Pinedale are almost boulder free.

This is the thirty-ninth summer Evenson has brought geology field camp students from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania to Pinedale.
