by Pinedale Online! July 24, 2013 A company in Japan claims to have created a machine that converts ordinary plastic waste into usable oil. The machine takes what is now considered throw-away plastic garbage and uses a heating process to convert it into oil that can be further refined into gasoline, diesel, and kerosene. These oils can then be used in vehicles, stoves and heaters. One kg of plastic waste makes about one liter of oil. The video says the machine and process helps people understand that plastic waste isn’t garbage, but rather is a valuable resource that can be turned back into usable oil products. The company believes the machine can be especially helpful in third-world countries to reduce garbage overload in communities and help provide a ready source of oil for heating and energy uses. |
