Around 5:30PM on Monday, September 16th reports began to come in of a funnel cloud sighting near Marbleton and Big Piney. A law enforcement officer first reported a thunderstorm with a funnel cloud north of Marbleton near Muddy Creek Rd. The initial reports were that the funnel were headed for the towns. In response, the Big Piney ambulances were moved out of the ambulance barn and told to stage outside of town. One eye witness said the funnel did touch the ground and was swirling dirt on the ground, but it did not last long and went back up into the clouds. No damage was reported.
