The evening of Friday, September 6 provided a magnificent lightning display from about 10pm to 1pm. The National Weather Service recorded about 300 strikes during this time from Highway 351 to Gannett Peak. This pales in comparison with northern Campbell County which had over 1000 strikes from 10pm to 11pm alone. Dave Bell posted photos from the storm. "…it was a truly spectacular display and I was in a great position to capture some magnificent displays of Mother Nature's Fireworks."
