Ski Club refocuses to family and adult winter recreation
October 15, 2013
The Sublette County Ski and Snowboard Association is reorganizing to change focus from ski racing and learn to ski/snowboard for youth to family and adult winter recreation. According to a recent media release from the association, they are not just kids skiing at White Pine anymore. Their new goal is to create opportunities for everyone to get out and enjoy the winter.
They still have a smaller ski team of elementary-middle school age kids that train at White Pine Ski Area and compete at the Club series and local level races.
They are organizing a variety of recreational opportunities and activities including a trip to Jackson with discounted overnight lodging for alpine/snowboard or Nordic skiing, discounted lodging at West Yellowstone for Nordic skiing, and an overnight trip to Grand Targhee. The Club is seeking input from interested persons on these activities. No dates have been set yet for any of these trips.
The Association has worked with local lodging establishments to offer special rates for overnight trips to Pinedale. The Hampton Inn and Suites special rate of $79 is available anytime all winter.
