Jared spent 17 years bronc riding in rodeos and has logged thousands of miles exploring the remote backcountry of the Wind River Mountains on horses and mules. Jared earned a bachelor’s degree in Zoology at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah supported by rodeo and academic scholarships. He competed as a bareback rider at the College National Finals Rodeo and continued at a professional level while earning a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska. A rodeo injury in 2007 prompted him to pursue his musical career more seriously. Today he calls Pinedale, Wyoming home, but is getting busier and busier with his musical concert tours. Jared has released three albums, "Bad Hay" (2010), "Peace, Love and Horses" (2011), and "Dirt" (2013). His album "Dirt" was recently reported as the 10th most played Western album in The Western Way.
Singer/songwriter Nate Curry, of Cora, Wyoming, wrote "Honky Tonk Halos" specifically for Jared to record on the "Peace, Love & Horses" album.
When not on the road performing, Jared can often be heard playing in local Pinedale venues. Click here for his performing tour schedule.
