MESA announces 2014 schedule of events

M.E.S.A. Therapeutic Horsemanship has released their 2014 schedule of events.
M.E.S.A. (Mind, Energy, Spirit, and Attitude ) Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc. is a non-profit program aimed at providing equine-related therapy activities to individuals with disabilities within Sublette County, Wyoming. The mission of M.E.S.A. is to promote self-esteem, self-confidence, physical independence, and social interaction through equine-related activities. Participants in M.E.S.A. program have a wide range of physical, mental, and behavioral challenges that the program is designed to address and assist. Each individual is evaluated by a physician and certified instructor before being accepted into the program to ensure the safety of the participant. Challenges served include cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, spina bifida, autism, emotional & behavioral difficulties, strokes, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, visual and auditory impairment, developmental delay, amputation, paralysis, ADD, ADHD, and other hyperactivity disorders, chronic or terminal illness, other neuromuscular and orthopedic challenges, Behavioral Challenges, Cancer.
2014 Schedule:
March 14: MESA Volunteer Training, Sullivan's Arena 5:30 p.m. All MESA Lesson Volunteers are asked to attend a 2-hour training session each year to learn about MESA Standards and Procedures during lessons.
March 17-20: MESA Winter Camp in Big Piney. 4-6 p.m. at the SC Ag Center
March 31 - April 3: MESA Winter Camp in Pinedale 4-6 p.m. at Sullivan's Arena, Boulder
April 9: MESA Volunteer Training at Sullivan's Arena 5:30 p.m.
April 14: MESA Spring Lessons Begin. Big Piney lessons are on Mondays, Pinedale lessons are on Tuesdays. Please call Carla to sign up.
April 19: MESA Tack Swap 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sullivan's Arena in Boulder. Consignments taken at 7 a.m. MESA receives 10% commission on items sold.
May 22: MESA Volunteer Training
June 9: MESA Summer Lessons begin
July 18: MESA Horse Show at the SC Ag Center, 5:30 p.m.
August 28: MESA Volunteer Training
September 6: MESA Ride and Barbecue
September 8: MESA Fall lessons begin
December 3: MESA Christmas Party
