Report courtesy of Mike Looney, Groomer
February 13, 2014
Thursday, Feb. 13, 9:10 AM report: 36 degrees, 6-8" of new snow in the last 24 hours. Bit of a breeze, but not too bad. Not snowing now, but has been all morning. Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Tree Loop and Moose Ridge all freshly groomed this morning. Will get to all the trails today. The golf course and CCC trails will be later this afternoon. Kelly Park was the first one groomed so is probably the firmest. Expect soft conditions today – recommend classic skiing. Watch out for Cookie Monsters on the trails – the whole 5th grade class is up skiing today. The road is freshly plowed, but snow-packed. Please slow down and be cautious, watch for on-coming traffic on the sharp turns. Don’t end up in the ditch. Beautiful day up here today. Note: The Sunny Korfanta ski/snowboard race is on Saturday, (open to all ages, race your friends and family, register online here). White Pine Resort is open today through Monday, President’s Day holiday.
