Friday, March 21, 9:30AM report: Chilly this morning, -7 degrees around 6AM, but warming up, 17 degrees now. All trails above groomed. CCC trails were groomed yesterday and should still be good skiing – getting a lot of use. Golf Course should still be skiable as is.

Crust skiing probably better lower down towards Fremont Lake where there is adequate snow coverage – not so good higher up because of a little fresh snow. Caution to off-trail crust skiers: Please be considerate of wildlife on winter range in the area. Your presence can spook them into deep snow where they struggle to get through and causes them to expend energy that is crucial for their survival this time of year. Look ahead of you and if you see wildlife or fresh tracks or sign, turn around so you do not disturb them. Elk, deer, and moose use this area too and rely on the wind scoured south and west slopes to find forage this time of year.
