Thursday, March 27, 8:30AM report: 21 degrees, slight breeze blowing. Supposed to be some weather coming in for the weekend. Up to ˝ inch of fresh snow this morning. All trails above groomd except for Heart Attack and Flatline. There is a closure to the new loop trail section where Kelly tie In trail meets Kelly Park due to two moose in there – this is the section of trail that had the closure a couple of weeks ago due to the calf moose stuck in there. The closure is for safety for skiers and to give the moose a chance to rest from the deep snow and find their way out on their own – the trail is blocked on both ends with markings and signs. If you encounter wildlife on the trail during your outings, please turn around and go a different direction and use a different trail so you don’t disturb them. We’re starting to lose our snow lower down. Most likely won’t be any more grooming at the CCC Ponds or golf course trails due to low snowpack and spring wildlife migration beginning. There still is some good skiing in these areas for probably another week or two, so enjoy them while you can.
