Grand Opening of 4-H Barn April 15
Original post April 14, 2014 | Updated April 15, 2014

University of Wyoming Extension and Sublette County 4-H are pleased to announce the Grand Opening and Donor Recognition Ceremony for the new community livestock barn.

Please join Governor Mead, Sublette County Commissioners, and the University of Wyoming to thank QEP for their investment in Sublette County’s youth and our agricultural heritage. The event begins at 12:45 p.m. at the Rose Skinner 4-H Preserve, which is located approximately 2 miles south of Pinedale Immediately south of QEP’s Office, 9663 US Hwy 191, west side of the highway. Don’t forget to wear the color purple to celebrate Purple Up Day in conjunction with UW Extension’s Month of the Military Child event. Reception following the ceremony.

Update 4/15/14: The new 4-H barn cost $119,000 and was built on land purchased by QEP to build their new Pinedale office, which opened in 2012. QEP donated 40 acres of land and stream-front property to create the Rose Skinner Preserve for 4-H programs in the county. The new facilities will allow youth living in town or subdivisions to do market livestock projects. Other programs that will eventually be held on the property include education in range management, horticulture, forage studies, riparian management, and more.
