Primary Election Candidates Finalized

With Friday’s closing of the filing period for candidates for political office in Sublette County, many seats will have active races for the August 19 primary election. With the exception of county commission candidate Courtney Skinner (Democrat), all other candidates filing in Sublette County are Republicans.

Sublette County Treasurer candidates:
Roxanna Jensen of Pinedale (incumbent)
Delta McCormick of Pinedale
Sublette County Sheriff candidates:
Dave Lankford of Pinedale (incumbent)

Andrew "Mac" Mackenzie of Pinedale
Sublette County Coroner candidates:

Unchallenged Positions Sublette County Attorney Neal Stelting did not file for re-election. Deputy County Attorney Clayton Kainer of Boulder (R) has filed for the position. Incumbents Clerk of District Court Janet K. Montgomery and Sublette County Assessor Jeness Saxton (both Republicans from Pinedale) are seeking re-election, with no challengers filing for the seats.
In addition, State Representative Albert Sommers (District 20) has filed for re-election and has no challengers. District 22 Representative Marti Halverson of Etna has filed for re-election, and Natalia Macker of Jackson has filed for the same seat.
Statewide Races At the state level, Incumbent U.S. Senator Mike Enzi will face a brace of contenders on the Republican ballot, including Arthur Bruce Clifton of Cheyenne, Bryan Miller of Sheridan, James Gregory of Jackson, and Thomas Bleming of Lusk. Democratic contenders for the seat include Al Hamburg of Torrington; Charlie Hardy of Cheyenne; Rex Wilde of Cheyenne; and William Bryk of Brooklyn, NY.
U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis will face Jason Adam Senteney of Yoder for the Republican primary. Democrat Richard Grayson of Apache Junction, Arizona also filed for this seat.
Incumbent Wyoming Governor Matt Mead will face Cindy Hill and Taylor Haynes (both of Cheyenne) in the Republican primary, while Pete Gosar of Laramie (a Pinedale native) has filed on the Democratic ballot.
Wyoming Secretary of State candidates include Clark Stith of Rock Springs; Ed Buchanan of Torrington; Ed Murray of Cheyenne; and Pete Illoway. All are Republicans.
State Auditor Cynthia Cloud is seeking re-election and has no challengers.
State Treasurer Mark Gordon is seeking re-election, and Ron Redo of Cheyenne has also filed as a Republican candidate for the seat.
Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates include Bill Winney of Bondurant, Jillian Barlow of Cheyenne, and Sheryl Lain of Cheyenne on the Republican ticket, and Mike Ceballos of Cheyenne on the Democratic ballot.
Precinct Committee Members Candidates from around the county have filed for precinct committee seats for the Republican primary.
