by Bridger-Teton National Forest
June 11, 2014
The Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest will hold a seminar entitled "Navigating Your Way in the Wilderness" at the Sublette County Library on June 12th at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Pinedale’s local wilderness rangers will be answering questions and giving instruction on the use of topographical maps, compasses, and GPS units to pinpoint your location in the wilderness. There will be navigation-based games for the kids and a chance to get to know the rangers who patrol the Bridger Wilderness.
This seminar is part of a summer-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Wilderness Act, which will include talks, demonstrations, events and a Photo Roundup, which will culminate in a town-wide display of your best wilderness photos.
For more information and updates on this celebration, contact the Pinedale Ranger District at 307-367-4326.
