Colder weather on the way

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the northern and western mountains from 11PM Sunday, November 9th through 5AM Tuesday (Veteran’s Day). A cold front will bring snow to the north and west late Sunday evening and overnight. Commuters across north and central Wyoming will likely encounter slick, icy roads and limited visibility in blowing snow Monday morning. Light snow will continue into Tuesday. Bitterly cold temperatures will occur east of the Continental Divide into central Wyoming from Monday night through Thursday morning. Chances for snowfall will increase across the western mountains and in the southwest on Thursday and Friday. Another cold front moves through northern and central Wyoming on Saturday bringing colder temperatures. Monday’s daytime high will struggle to get to 33 in Pinedale and dropping into the week, with chances of snow. By Wednesday, nighttime temperatures will drop into negative numbers to -7. Prepare for a dramatic difference from Sunday’s toasty shirtsleeve weather as winter finally makes its first appearance to the Upper Green River Valley in Wyoming.
Pinedale forecast: Sunday night Snow likely, mainly after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 24. Windy, with a west wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Monday A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Monday Night A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as zero. West northwest wind 6 to 13 mph becoming south after midnight.
Veterans Day A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 25. Wind chill values as low as zero. South wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Tuesday Night A 20 percent chance of snow before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -3. South wind 6 to 10 mph.
