Friday, March 6, 9:30AM report: Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor, portion of Upper Surveyor to Kelly Tie-in trail from Kelly Park parking lot to Nordic building all freshly groomed this morning. Lower Surveyor adjacent to White Pine parking lot and under the ski area is CLOSED this weekend due to the Hill Climb event – that portion of trail has been fenced off. The Golf Course and CCC trails were groomed yesterday and should be in good condition. The White Pine Snowmobile Hill Climb this weekend will take up most of the parking lot space at the ski area for snowmachine trucks and trailers. They will be charging $20 per carload to get into the parking lot. Nordic skiers might be better to park at the Half Moon overlook or Nordic building parking area below, or in the overlook parking lot at the end of the paved portion of Skyline Drive past the ski area and then ski over to avoid the Hill Climb congestion and avoid paying the parking fee if you don’t want to watch the Hill Climb action.
