Quick hitting spring storm for Monday and Monday evening for Upper Green River basin
March 22, 2015
The National Weather Service is advising that a fast-moving Pacific storm will bring rain and snow showers to Sublette County Monday morning, March 23rd, continuing into the evening hours. The showers will be mainly snow above 9000 feet with snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches possible on the passes.
The air mass will be unstable enough for some embedded thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening hours. Strong wind gusts to 50 mph and small hail, along with dangerous lightning will be the main threats with these thunderstorms. Rainfall on melting snow may cause some ponding of water in fields.
