Survivors of suicide loss support group begins in January
Free monthly meetings in Pinedale

PINEDALE - Beginning on January 12, 2016, a survivor of suicide loss support group will meet at 5:15 p.m. each Tuesday of the month at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 524 W. Pine St. in Pinedale.
Jackie Downie, LCSW, an individual, child and teen therapist will provide support and help to those who attend. The meetings are sponsored by the Prevention Management Organization or Wyoming, Sublette County office.
Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOSL) reaches out to - and supports – community members who have lost a loved one to suicide. The goal is to give survivors a safe place where they can be comfortable expressing themselves - a place to find support, comfort, resources and hope in a judgment-free environment.
Anyone who has lost a family member, friend or loved one is invited to attend, free of charge, and no prior registration is necessary.
The Sublette County SOSL Support Group provides a comfortable, non-threatening setting to share your experiences and thoughts. Or you may just want to listen. But being with those who have had a similar experience, who can understand in a special way, is a gift the group shares with one another, a gift that may not be available elsewhere. Feelings shared are kept confidential, and discussed only within the confines of the group meeting.
Questions are encouraged to assist in coping with the different stages of the grieving process and with the feelings that are particularly intense in the aftermath of losing a loved one to suicide, such as: confusion, anger, rage, shame, shock, guilt, denial, disbelief and, for some, relief.
The group always seeks to end on an encouraging note. The sharing of the joys -as well as the sorrows - is promoted within the group setting. We offer a safe place to talk, share – or just listen.
