January 26, 2016
David Burnett M.D. has announced his intention to seek a seat on the Sublette County Commission. Burnett has practiced Family Medicine in Sublette County since 1989. Twenty of those years were in a private practice setting.
Burnett cites his experience in board function and operations, fiscal expertise, communication skills, leadership abilities and analytical skills as strengths that he will bring to the office of county commission.
Concerns for his campaign include establishing priorities for spending in preparation for impending decreased revenues, maintaining services according to those priorities and prudent use of reserve monies if needed.
Burnett emphasized that is it important for elected officials to work collaboratively and civilly with county boards, municipalities, organizations, the public, and each other. Problem solving is a collective process. A strong leadership team will be critical for the challenge of establishing a vision for the future of our county.
Burnett has served on the Sublette School District #9 Board for 24 years. He is currently the Chairman, and has held that office for 7 years. In addition he served on the Marbleton-Big Piney Airport Board for 9 years.
He and his wife Mary have four children, three of which graduated from Big Piney High School. They are the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren.
Burnett has, and will continue to bring "Good Medicine for all of Sublette County."
