Town Update: Parks
by Town of Pinedale
February 10, 2016
Here in Pinedale we have beautiful parks that are open year-round for our enjoyment. They are a wonderful amenity which many citizens embrace.
Right off of Pine Street, we have American Legion Park that has paved walking paths which are kept plowed during the winter months. The restrooms are heated and available for use year-round. American Legion is also the site of the Town Ice Rink this year! The Ice Rink is north of the gazebo. The Town of Pinedale invites you to bring your skates and enjoy the outdoors!
Just two blocks south of Pine Street, by way of Lake Ave, there is Boyd Skinner Park. There are many entrances to the Town’s largest park with some of the paved paths being accessible from these many entrances. There are two bathrooms, one of which is heated, available for year-round use. Another feature of this park is the playground area that is located at the northern end of the park.
A park that has significantly higher usage during the winter months is Burzlander Park, also known as, Sledding Hill. The park is natural with some improved paths. There are no restrooms. The park is located on the hill which makes it perfect for sledding! There are several other parks not mentioned, for more information please visittownofpinedale.us/180/Parks.
Pine Creek runs through both American Legion and Boyd Skinner Parks. Boyd Skinner also has the fishing pond. The Sledding Hill has the Lee Ditch running through it. It is important to bring attention to the water features. The Town has received reports of children walking and running on these iced over water features. This is very dangerous. Cold weather is not a good indicator of solid ice. Please take care, inform your children of the danger, or supervise their time at the park. The Town of Pinedale cares about every citizen’s safety! Please get out, enjoy the parks and everything they have to offer!
The Town of Pinedale is now hiring in the Public Works Department! Please come by Town Hall, now located at 61 S. County Road 123, to pick up an application or go to townofpinedale.us/documentcenter/View/399.
