Pinedale Middle School students are among Regional Finalists in the 2016 Globey Game Design Competitions

Pinedale Middle School (PMS) was recently informed that 18 PMS students are among the 2016 Regional Finalists in Globaloria's Game Design Competitions.
The Globey Competition is integral to the total learning experience of all Globaloria students nationwide. It is designed to enhance students' STEM skills and computational fluency, motivate them, and pace them creatively through a variety of game design and coding courses. The coding program, taught by Cheryl Travis, PMS technology teacher, is in its third year at PMS.
The 2016 Pinedale Regional Finalists are: Cameron Anderson, Sophia Cupril Smith, Carson Gregory, Thomas Harnack, Caleb Helm, Rylee Helm (two games), Aurora Looney, Coal Nelson (two games), Shyla Orders, Mitchell Pape, Landon Preece, Cole Redmond, Zain Roberts, Emma Rogers, Jasmine Saenz, Jacob Snell, Bailey Watson, and Shane Winner.
As the largest program of its kind in the nation in 20152016, Globaloria generated 700,000 hours of design thinking in classrooms lead by 650 educators in 150 schools in 15 states, including Wyoming.
The 2016 Regional Finalists from across the country are now entered into the national pool. The announcement of National Finalists will be made on Monday, September 19th. National Finalists will gather with educational leaders, VIPs, sponsors and the press at the Texas State Capitol in Austin for the National Awards ceremony taking place on September 24th, 2016.
