Introducing Pinedale to pavlova
Bridal, Birthdays & Baubles Expo at White Pine Oct. 22
by White Pine Resort
October 13, 2016
White Pine is holding a Brides, Birthdays and Baubles Expo on Saturday October 22nd from 10am-2pm at the resort. For those planning a special event; a wedding, cocktail, Christmas or children’s party, the expo will provide the opportunity to discover ideas, menu planning, meet local vendors and taste new treats.
The expo will be the launch pad for the pavlova dessert, a huge meringue smothered incrème anglaise and topped with kiwis, strawberries and a passion fruit coulis. Inspiration for the pavlova comes from White Pine owner, New Zealand born Robyn Blackburn who says "I grew up eating pavlova. It is always served at special events and I want to introduce our local community to this delicious treat which provides me with so many happy memories."
There will also be tasty treats for parties for the youngsters with pizzas and deep fried mac & cheese.
The White Pine International Dinner Club will also be launched at the expo. Chef Sharon Caudill brings together her favorite gastronomic flavors from her travels throughout Europe and the Orient. On the second Friday of every month from November 2016-March 2017, the six course meal will reflect an international flavor. November 11th is French night, December 9th is Italian, January 13th is Thai, February 10th is German and March 10th will be an Indian themed meal. Meals are $30 per person or $125.00 for the full five meal gastro-tour. Meals need to be booked in advance.
Prospective brides visiting White Pine during the expo will have the chance to discuss their plans with local wedding vendors. There will be marriage celebrants, hair and make-up personnel, florist, photographers, DJ, folk from Escape Day Spa in Rock Springs and website wedding design and invitation planning. "We are hoping that brides will see this as their ‘one stop shop for vendors’ for their big day," says Blackburn, who plans to make this expo an annual Sublette County event. "And to sweeten the deal, any bride who books their wedding at the resort on the day of the expo, will include a free wedding cake made by the chef at White Pine."
