Prescription Drug Take Back Day Oct. 21

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Prevention Management Organization, will host a prescription drug take back day. Community members are invited to come to Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale, Friday, October 21st from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and confidentially and securely dispose of unused or unwanted prescriptions.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office has agreed to assist and participate on that day with a pharmacy student from the Wyoming School of Pharmacy for a two-hour period. The Sheriff’s Office will have a uniform Deputy on site with the pharmacy student, and the Community Prevention Specialist, Ranae Pape will also be on site to answer questions for community members on local drop boxes and the Wyoming Medication Donation Program for future prescription disposal use.
If you are unable to make the prescription take back time on Friday, October 21st at Rendezvous Pointe, there are a couple options for safe disposal of your medications. The Wyoming Medication Donation Program (WMDP) reduces medication waste and improves access for low-income Wyoming residents who lack adequate prescription coverage. The WMDP provides immediate prescription help by re-dispensing acceptable donated medications, and providing advice on lower cost alternatives.
Also, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office participates in an ongoing drug disposal program. The program is designed for citizens to safely and confidentially dispose of unused and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications by placing them in a secure prescription drug drop box. Sublette County has two drop boxes for disposal throughout the county.
