Senator Enzi statement on BLM’s final venting and flaring rule

November 15, 2016
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., issued the following statement in response to Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell’s announcement that the Bureau of Land Management has finalized its new rule on methane venting and flaring from oil and gas operations on federal land and Indian land.
"Even in its waning hour, the Obama Administration is continuing its attack on America’s energy resources. The new methane rule is unnecessary, duplicative and destructive. We should be working to help promote energy production on public lands, not stifle production and the jobs that go along with it. Congress and hopefully the new Administration will work to overturn this and any other harmful midnight rules from the White House. We should finally be able to bring sound solutions to America’s energy needs."
