Details are still unconfirmed, but reports have come in that one of the buses carrying the University of Wyoming marching band was hit between Rawlins and Wamsutter, Wyoming around noon today (Saturday, Dec. 17th). Everyone is apparently ok, but the bus almost flipped. The bus was allegedly hit by a semi and nearly tipped over (as related by someone who was on the bus). It is dented, but drivable and they are back on their way to San Diego for the Poinsettia Bowl. ____________________________________
Editor's note, 12/19/16: Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that the vehicle that struck the bus was a westbound 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by an 18-year old Evanston, Wyoming man who attempted to pass the buses and lost control on the ice.
