Photo by Dave Bell. Dave said he was still up around midnight on Tuesday night and was rewarded with the most intense pillar display he has ever seen. He took this image from his house using a Canon 5d3/Zeiss Distagon ZE 21 at f3.5/ISO 350/30-second exposure. In this photo, the winter constellation Orion is framed in the picture up top, center. "That was part of what made this so cool--Orion and its main stars--Rigel, Betelgeuce, Bellatrix and Saiph--. The brightest star, upper corner of the constellation is Rigel." |
