Some reservoirs already near or at capacity, best water conditions in years by Pinedale Online! January 11, 2017 An article posted on January 9th in the East Bay Times of San Jose, California says the recent rain storms have done much to significantly increase water levels in parched reservoirs, some now approaching or already at full capacity, all but ending the five-year drought at least along the north coast region of California. Snowpack in the Sierra Nevada mountains is 126% of historic average for this time of year as of mid-January, according to the article. Drought conditions remain in Southern California. Whether Governor Brown rescinds the 2014 emergency drought declaration for northern California depends on where the rain and snow conditions are by the end of March and April.
