Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to reopen Feb. 13
Power restored, lifts running
February 13, 2017
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) will reopen today (Monday, February 13, 2017) after being shut down for a week when powerful winds from a winter storm knocked out power to Teton Village in Jackson Hole on Tuesday, Feb. 7th. Winds topping 75mph and heavy snow snapped off 17 metal electrical transmission towers. Lower Valley Energy, with help from five other companies in the surrounding region, has battled extremely challenging conditions to repair the damage. Power was restored to JHMR on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 11). The lifts, gondolas and aerial tram, and most restaurants are scheduled to reopen today (Monday, Feb. 13) at 9AM. "All lifts and systems have been tested to ensure everything is functional after the outage," the resort posted on their Facebook page. Most of the businesses in Teton Village are expected to reopen as well, with a couple exceptions that are still getting back up and running. Skiers can find booking information at the resort’s website: www.jacksonhole.com or by calling 1-888-DEEP-SNOW, 307-733-2292. Information about ticket refunds and other questions can also be directed to info@jacksonhole.com.
