Pinedale High School, Sublette Chamber, Sublette BOCES, SERC and UW Extension will be hosting a 2017 Career Fair on Friday, May 5th. Local businesses are invited to attend to assist students to begin thinking about their futures early by exploring various options. The tentative schedule is to run from 8AM to 1:30PM at the Pinedale High School. There will be three break-out sessions in the morning and two career-readiness workshops in the afternoon.
Tentative Session Break-Out Categories include: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources Architecture & Construction Arts, Audio/Visual Technology & Communications Business Management & Administration Education & Training Finance Government & Public Administration Health Science Hospitality & Tourism Human Services Information Technology Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security Manufacturing Marketing Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Transportation, Distribution, Logistics
Participating businesses are asked be available during the day and be able to tell the following kinds of things to students: - Snapshot of your typical workday - Career trends (job outlook, how competitive, economy driven) - Pros and cons of job - Salary (starting and possible advancement) - Training/education requirements, including extracurricular activities - Helpful technology to be familiar with - High School classes that would pertain to career (more for the 8th to 10th graders) - The path that brought you to your present career - Your favorite task in your job - An exciting, funny or unusual experience you have had in your career
Businesses are encouraged to bring promotional items for students and business cards to hand out.
