Rock Springs Road Closure Bulletin

ROCK SPRINGS, Friday, March 10, 2017, 11:00 AM:
The Sweetwater County Department of Public Works and Sheriff Mike Lowell are advising that County Road 48 (the Salt Wells Road), east of Rock Springs, is once again closed due to serious flooding.
Also closed is County Road 18, the Chilton Road, at U.S. Highway 191 north of Rock Springs.
"People need to take these road closures seriously," Lowell said today. "Over the past few weeks, we’ve had people become seriously stuck along roadways that have been closed, placing themselves in potential danger."
Lowell also emphasized that snowmelt and flooding is causing adverse driving conditions on roads throughout the county. "We recommend special caution if you are going to be driving on roads in the remote areas," he said. "Be careful and leave word with someone where you will be traveling."
