Craig Cabin & Gold Mine – History talk by Ann Noble April 10th in Pinedale

Fur trapping, gold mining, and outfitting fill a colorful 120 year history of two cabins located east of Bondurant along Jack Creek at the base of Sawtooth Mountain in the Gros Ventre Range on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Craig Cabin, as the site is commonly known, was probably built about 1898 and is still in use as an outfitting camp. Predating the cabins, the site also lies along a pre-historic Indian trail that might have even been used by the Astorians, the first documented Euro-American to enter the Upper Green River Valley in 1811. Craig Cabin was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Join us for evening of unique Sublette County history presented by historian Ann Noble at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 7 pm.
