Editor's Update, Thursday, April 6, 2017, 2:15PM: We have not been able to verify there was a second crash at milepost 158 on US 191 after the first incident. We believe this may have instead been a road closure point to stop traffic for the first accident. At this time, we believe the report of a second crash was incorrect. ________________________________
Original post: Crash on US 191 north of Daniel A head-on collision north of Daniel on US 191 resulted in three injuries early Thursday morning, April 6th. Preliminary reports are that two people were lifeflighted and one ground transported to medical facilities.
(Editor's update: we believe the following part of our original story is unfounded and there was no second crash, but rather what was shown on the WYDOT closure map was actually a law enforcement turn-around point to stop through traffic for the first accident.): A second crash occurred about a half hour later 32 miles north of the first crash, south of Stinky Springs in Hoback Canyon. No details are available about the second crash. US 191 is closed in both directions between Hoback Juntion and Daniel Junction for clean up and crash investigation. The highway will be closed for an estimated 6 hours, and isn't expected to open until sometime in the late afternoon. More info here: Wyo4news.com
