Pinedale residents experienced two power outages in two days. According to Dave Eskelsen, Company Spokesman for Rocky Mountain Power, the first outage was on Thursday, May 4th from 9:27AM to 10:40AM, impacting 1,009 customers in the Pinedale area to lose power. Technicians did a visual inspection of the line, but did not find an obvious cause for what tripped the outage at Pinedale substation #22. A second outage occurred on Friday, May 5th from 1:57PM to 2:05PM. It was associated with repairs being made to the line related to the first outage. Technicians had to turn the power off briefly to finish their repairs.

Regarding recent heavy smoke in Big Piney, according to Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, this is related to people burning fields and ditches for the past couple of days in that area. This is not a Forest Service or BLM prescribed burn.
