Peak snowmelt runoff is done for the Spring 2017 season
Streams and rivers in Wyoming expected to continue to recede through the end the week
by National Weather Service
June 13, 2017

Reservoir releases out of Boysen and Fontenelle Reservoirs will keep The Big Horn and Green Rivers running at high levels through the end of the week.

Snow water equivalents (SWEs) are between 15 and 18 inches at the 9,500 to 10,000 foot elevation along the Wind and Green River Basins. There is a warming trend starting Friday and Saturday over the mountains with above average temperatures lasting through the middle of next week. However, by the middle to the end of the warming trend, there will be not enough SWEs in the remaining snowpack below 10,000 foot elevation to cause significant runoff for any additional major rises in streams and rivers. Therefore, the peak snowmelt runoff is done for the Spring 2017 season.
