Rendezvous history bus tour July 6
During Green River Rendezvous Days
June 29, 2017
Sublette BOCES and the Museum of the Mountain Man/Sublette County Historical Society have teamed up to offer a bus tour of historical sites during Green River Rendezvous Days in Pinedale. The free tour is first come-first serve. Participants will have the opportunity to see many fur trade era historical sites around the county with historians Jim Hardee and Clay Landry who will share stories and interesting facts about what took place at each location. Sites to be visited include the CCC ponds to see a beaver pond, 1800s Green River Rendezvous site, 1812 Astorian campsite in the Upper Green, and DeSmet Monument overlooking Horse Creek and the Green River.
Meet at the Museum of the Mountain Man at 8:30AM. The bus leaves at 9AM sharp. The tour will return around 2:30PM. Bring sunscreen, mosquito spray, refillable water bottle, a light jacket, hat, sunglasses, and a sack lunch. Water and chairs will be available at each stop. Space is limited and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up early to ensure your spot. Well-behaved interested children welcome, (but it will be a long day for them).
