Diesel and gas vehicles to be banned in Britain by 2040
Some cities passing legislation to ban by 2025
July 26, 2017
The New York Times had an article saying Britain will ban the sale of new diesel and gas cars by 2040. The rationale is to battle emissions they claim are harming people’s health and causing global climate change and to promote electric vehicles. France is also making similar moves. In October, 2016, the German government voted to ban new gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles from EU roads starting in 2030. Paris, Madrid, Athens and Mexico City banned the most polluting cars and vans by 2025 to tackle air pollution.
