Where is all the smoke coming from?

Large fire activity in the northwest has caused smoky conditions in the Upper Green River Valley area. Current weather patterns are bringing smoke from fires in Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Canada to parts of Wyoming. There is also the new Pole Creek Fire burning on the Kemmerer Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest approximately 25 miles northwest of Kemmerer, Wyoming. As of Friday (August 4), it was 2400 acres in size. The fire danger remains at High on the Forest. For more information go to www.tetonfires.com.
